Frontline story gathering from a new perspective

To create campaigns for our clients we are used to filming worldwide. As you can imagine, we meet amazing people! Not just those who kindly share their stories, but local camera crews and fixers who make it all happen. Now, to meet the needs of our clients, and to provide work for our in-country friends and colleagues, we’ve created Muddy Tripods.

No matter how you approach storytelling, you need stories! And the most inspiring ones often come from people at the frontline of your work – no matter where that is. To help you get closer to those stories, we have created a team of ready-to-travel and in-country camera crew. We can connect you with them, so that they can film what you need quickly, cost-effectively, and with great know-how and sensitivity to local culture and conditions. And if you need help to sharpen up a filming brief, we can do that too.

Our DRTV projects continue to be led, created and executed by the DTV teams.

Muddy Tripods can help connect your brief to the right talent if:

  • You need frontline stories

  • You or your team don’t want to travel yourself

  • You prefer to use in-country expertise

  • You want to allow more time on the ground for building trust with those you interview, or filming a wider story, or taking advantage of unforeseen opportunities.

Local know-how and partnership

The Muddy Tripods network brings together many trusted crew and camera people we have worked with for up to 15 years. These are more than just great film crews. They are people who know how to work in demanding, sometimes hostile environments. They are sensitive to cultural differences. They are ready to move quickly. And they know their way around travel, visa and health requirements.

In addition, we continue to create partnerships with not-for-profit and educational organisations on the ground. Through these partnerships, we can help you find film crew that can help you whenever you are looking for stories or films to empower, start conversations, or inspire action.
